Obesity is an epidemic in the United States, and it contributes to many metabolic and cardiovascular diseases. Obesity also contributes to another major health problem, low back pain. Explain biomechanically why in general obesity causes back pain problems and specifically why more in men compared to women.

As said above obesity became a major problem through out the world.It is seen in every age group and it results in increasing the risk of developing several cardiovascular diseases and several other health problems.

Obesity have meta inflammatory effects on spine which result in the form of pain in back.Fat accumulation in body is associated with back pain Beacuse due to weight gain there is pressure in the lumbar region because the weight in midsection which causes the pelvic to bend forward in which in turn strains lower back.

Men may suffer more back pain because they usually who repeatedly lifts weights.

But in studies the results shows than women suffers more back pain than male due to their health conditions such as menopause and osteoporosis etc.

The back pain of the person depends upon the range of his or her obesity levels and their health conditions.If a person work is mostly depend upon manual labour they may have higher risk and their lifestyle also plays major role.
