Development of an ethics training program to support the company's new code of ethics

Ethics

Ethics is an discipline which deals with what is good and bad and with moral duty and obligation. It is principles and values used by an individual to govern his/her actions and decisions . In an organization ethics is applied which is called as organisational ethics. Organizational ethics is interdependent with the organisational culture. Organizational culture express the values of an organization to its employees and to other entities irrespective of governmental and regulatory laws.

An organization forms when individuals with varied interests and with different backgrounds unite on a common platform and work together in order to achieve a common goal At such times a code of ethics is framed by the organisation so as to see the employee's under one umbrella.

While developing an ethical training program, in order to support the company's new code of ethics the following has to be followed:

  1. Make it specific - training should target specific behavior and be reinforced by action.
  2. It should be two way conversation - the program should include the process for asking questions and getting management to correct apparent weakness in procedures.
  3. Make it interactive - the most effective programs are interactive so employees can learn how to make better ethical decisions
  4. Make it memorable and situational - many companies offer online training program so as to make it easy and memorable to the employee.
  5. Make it relatable - the training program should be relatable with the situations in the organization by presenting some live case studies.
  6. Reinforce it - in a live training environment training instructor should review and positively reinforce behaviors learnt by the employee's
  7. Repeat it - this is a very good test of one's ethics and integrity
  8. Make it visible - what code of ethics the comp company want to inplement should be visible to all the employee's. That means make the employee's to understand the need for implementing new code of ethics so that they work it.

Writing a code of ethics is very difficult to the organisation. Here the code of ethics is done in 1986. It has been a long time since it was followed Now there is a need for the company to form a new code of ethics. Because we are living in a modern world which is completely based on technology. Such as internet. Implementing the technology in the work environment brings more profits to the business and make the organisation to be efficient and effective..

I recommend the company to implement this program as soon as possible
