Answer: 11.4 ml of medium should be added to 3 ml of cell suspension.

Explanation: V1 C1 = V2 C2

V1 is the volume of cell suspension or stock and C2 is the concentration of the stock

V2 is the required volume and C2 is the required concentration.

We know V1 = 3 ml, C1 = 480000 cell/ml and C2 = 100000 cells/ml.

V2 = ?

V2 = (V1 x C1 ) / C2

= (3 x 480000) / 100000

= 14.4 ml will be the total volume of media with the cell suspension. so 14.4 - 3ml of cell suspension = 11.4 ml.
