A platykurtic distribution has thinner tail than that of normal Distribution(Which is mesokurtic) , sometimes no tail at all . Rather it has a flat surface and looks like inverted U .
Eg.: Uniform Distribution
Whereas , a Leptokurtic distribution has fatter tails than that of Normal distribution . It has a sharp /pointed surface and looks like inverted V .
