what those themes tell us about love as described in A General Theory of Love. You should address whether love, as it is described in A General Theory of Love enables us to genuinely love another human being as an individual. Or does it allow us to treat others as objects that satisfy our emotional needs? Is possible or desirable to love another human being as a unique individual? What would that look like?

According to the General theory of Love , It is the product of brain and not to the heart. Human beings seek love and affection from people they living with. It is a universal acceptance that it may be differ from people to people. Many people love every person in the society even to animals but some people narrowed to themselves only.  

As per my view , we satisfy our emotions by loving someone. Many times , lust can be identified as a sign of love but it is false love in the sense that only sensory desires or fullfillment of some gratification will not be treated as true love. That is only physical desire like we eat food. A true love can be seen in a relationship like Mother and her children. She used to love them without any desire or expectations.

Yes , Philanthropic view do the same. One who love almost each kind of human being even to animals can be categorized as universal lover. It is true that love and affection may be different for different kind of people. One will deliver a unique respect to her/his mother but not necessarily to her / his father. It shows the uniqueness in loving someone.

It looks like love is universal phenomenon of human being . It can be take shape of different relationships but uniqueness may be found. Innocent people love mankind due to some connection of soul to almighty. Love is matter of philosophy. One can see it with scientific, physiological, psychological as well as philosophical perspectives.
