The starch is one of the various type of carbohydrate present in high amount in plants. They are polysaccharide that consist of glucose monomer bonded to each other by the 1, 4 linkage.

The monosaccharides are the molecule that can not be further or subsequently hydrolysed while polysaccharide can undergo hydrolysis to give rise to monosaccharides.

Starch are of two types:

1. Amylopectin

2. Amylose

The hydrolysis of polysaccharide such as starch produces the monosaccharides which is glucose. So this option is right.

All other options are incorrect becuse:

The protein is made up of amino acid joined together by the peptide linkage. Their digestion gives rise to amino acids

Nucleotide are the constituent of DNA and not carbohydrate such as starch.

Steriod is an example of lipids and not the carbohydrate.
