In an experiment, a researcher counts the number of oxygen bubbles produced by water plants placed under different colors of light. The researcher finds that water plants placed under white light release more oxygen bubbles than water plants placed under red light. Which of the following statements is best supported based on the observation?

A. Light can break up water molecules to form oxygen.

B. White light increases photosynthesis in plants.

C. Red light has no affect on the release of oxygen from water plants.

D. An increase in temperature decreases the amount of oxygen produced by plants.

When normal atmospheric conditions are present, water is constantly being cycled between liquid and gaseous states by which of the following pairs of processes?

D. Ribosomes.

2. White is more preferable for photosynthesis because it has large spectrum of light which can be absorbed by plant for photosynthesis. The absorbed light energy is used by chloroplasts to break water which not only releases O2 but also releases H+ ions and electrons.

B. White light increases photosynthesis in plants.

3.Water is continuously changing its state under certain conditions. It evaporates to form atmospheric vapor from the surface. When the temperature is lowered, it condenses to form liquid water.

C. Evaporation and condensation.

4. Less economically developed countries have more birth rate because of non-availability of contraceptives, lack of female education, more children will give more working hands etc. Higher mortality is another reason for increased birth rate. In more economically developed countries will have lower birth rate due to the life style chosen by the adults.

B. higher infant mortality rate

5. Because it is continuous data to be recorded and graphed line graph is best for such recording as graphs. Different colors can be used for each graph.
