In order to implement this change, as a first step, I will inform the managers to discuss the need for working hour changes with the team members. This will help to keep the employees informed about the plan. Employees would resist more when there is a sudden change implementation. Prior discussion will help to gather the employees support and lower the resistance. As the next step I will arrange an open discussion with the employees to explain regarding the reason behind change and how the company will be benefited. The main reason behind employee resistance is the lack of communication regarding the changes which makes the employees concerned about their current position. We will discuss all the employee concerns and ensure them that their position will not be affected due to the work hour changes and there will not be any employee layoff. The employees will support the change when they understand the benefits and the need for the change. This will help to ensure organizational unity and reduce the employee resistance to a great extent. In the next step, we will communicate regarding the change in hours through a memo. The communication will not lead to any rumors or uncertainty as they are already aware of the changes.
