Poverty – My View

Poverty, I believe, means the lack of hope with underprivileged children that they can achieve or have that is usually advertised across cities, television and mobile. It is the very basis for the lack of motivation that underprivileged children today have.

Nevertheless, there are other types of poverty that people may have which includes:

· Real Poverty: a situation where individual is focused on fending for themselves on daily basis for food, shelter and water

· Rural poverty: even though there is agricultural of other local income, the access to health, education and services should also be considered poverty. This does not allow the family to give the resource to their children so that they can think of moving up from the situation

· Comparative Poverty: low segment of society compared with high segment of society

· Emotional Poverty: the poverty faced by women for being discriminated with respect to their social standing and economic opportunities available to them

Causes of Poverty

Poverty can be caused by many factors some of it can be:

Poor Country: Today, 80% of Africa comes under the poverty levels as per global standards. This is not caused at individual level, it is caused by economic scale of the country

Generational Poverty: Both in developed and developing countries there are segments who are living in poverty for generations and till date do have had access to resources to bring themselves out of the situation

Chosen Poverty: some generations choose to be where they are, with whatever minimal they and content themselves. But challenge comes when they face crises such as medical requirements and safety conditions

Situational Poverty: someone or family who may lose the assets and wealth due to natural calamity, violence, health problems etc

Discrimination of Women: I believe that it is very important to note that only because of social domination of men, women have been discouraged to work and earn for themselves or get treated unequally. This has caused demotivated women who cannot feel confident about teaching their children (especially girls) to look up to a self-made life. Imagine nearly half of world’s population thinking that their life is poor (emotionally at least)

Solutions to Poverty

Poverty is a global challenge and can be solved through changed perspectives and self-dependence. Some broad factors that can find solution to poverty can be:

Education: First and foremost the education of children and those who are interested is the most important factor for long-term changes in income levels. For children access to quality education can build self-confidence in them to try to push forward in the challenges of the world and build skills for themselves

Create and Motivate Good Educators: For the next generation to know from getting their basics right and build a strong foundation to take up complex challenges of social and economic systems of the future, availability of Good Educators is critical. This may also mean that bootcamps are created for children to learn the topic of their own choices and learn through either online or ground access to Good Educators and Professionals in their respective fields of work

Skill Development Programs: For adults and teenagers, especially in generational poverty, who have not had the access to education, provision of skill development programs is a good way to boost income for themselves. This can also give confidence in the adults to provide better education for their children and get out of the continuous poverty

Health System: The backbone of available workforce is availability of accessible health system. In lot of developed countries, the health system is free which allows the workforce to take up entrepreneurial challenges to further their incomes.

Investment to create Jobs: Investments can be made both by government and private sector that can create jobs for people in both cities and rural areas

Women Empowerment: Even though the world is changing the challenge that women workforce faces today with respect to

Analysis

Global Poverty is a challenge that has multifaceted reasons for its presence. Caused by countries and areas that are poor from generations who do not have access to basic life resources like education, health and services.

Another cause for poverty is lack of women empowerment which has created a divide in nearly half of the population of the world. The impact of which is trickling down the next generation to remain poor both emotionally and economically

The crux of the solution comes in putting together programs to provide quality educating Children, Teenagers, Adults and especially Women so that the current generation of workforce can build themselves to get of out challenges that are keeping them in poverty

Conclusion

The future of the social and economic world today rests on having an educated skilled and self-made workforce who can make social and economic decisions themselves.

The solution of such issues cannot be global. Issues must be dealt with concentrated efforts and programs designed to educate and train in varied locations, culture and prevailing health conditions
