How has implementation of the The Joint Commission’s staffing effectiveness standards affected the quality of care...

How has implementation of the The Joint Commission’s staffing effectiveness standards affected the quality of care delivered to patients on your unit? How has the nursing staff responded to this implementation? Are the nurses unionized? How have other units been affected and please get as specific responses as possible.

It definitely improved the quality of care delivered to the patients. Since there has been an increase in the number of RN they are able to give more attention and care to the patients.

Initially response of the nursing staff was positive. However to meet this ratio the nurses has to do overtime work since the management refused appoint new staff to meet the ratio which increased the workload on existing nurses.

Every unit focus on improving quality of care.combined co operation of all other units are required for the proper implementation of standards. So other units also increase their staffing ratio.
