What do you understand about chemical modification of RNA? What role they play in terms of functions?
The primary function of RNA is to copy the information contained in the DNA into the proteins. 3 types of RNA passively do the converting of the code into polypeptides. The mRNA carries the blueprint of protein from the DNA of a cell to ribosomes. tRNA which carry to particicular amino acids and into ribosomes for taking part in new protein. The rRNA contained largely in ribosomes itself. The chemical modifications has a major role in regulating and function of DNA and RNA. Chemical modifications of RNA is the process of alteration in which the chemical composition of RNA molecules after synthesis that have the ability to change its function or its stability. Major functions are, translation efficiency is maintained by modifications in tRNA, which is done by supporting the structure, the interactions of anticodon-codon, and the links with enzymes. Modifications of anticodon is crucial for the decoding of messenger RNA.

Question 18 4 pts What role do restriction enzymes play in bacteria? How do bacteria protect their own DNA from the action of restriction enzymes? Change the surface proteins of bacteria; since DNA is not protein, there is no need for protection Cut foreign DNA into pieces; bacteria have RNA genomes. Destroy invading viral DNA: bacterial DNA does not contain the restriction enzyme recognition sequences. Restrict the growth rate of bacteria; bacterial DNA is restriction enzyme resistant.
