What is the passive and effective listening and what are their differences? (200 WORDS)
When we consider active and passive listening, we can create the difference between the two by bringing the consideration that first of all, the nature of attention lies in the nature of the listening, active listening is active and attentive. Here, a listener fully interacts with the speaker, decoding their communication correctly, and making sure their full attention is being given to the speaker for them to make the most sense out of their communication process. On the other hand, passive listening is the opposite. It can be said that passive listening is listening to hear something but active listening is done to understand it correctly. Passive listening is performed without having any actual intention of responding or interacting with the speaker. It is easy for a passive listener to drop out of the conversation and for their mind to drift in and out of the topic, making it hard for them to decode the message as intended. Active listening, however, is also able to provide the necessary feedback to the speaker and therefore becomes a complete two-way process which completes the communication process.
