1) Balance is a diet that includes all types of food that contain the essential nutrients in the food pyramid. It also balances the total calorie intake and total calorie burnt in the body.

Variety is the including of different types of food in the everyday diet that meets the requirements of essential vitamins, minerals, antioxidants. The diet servings should be enough to meet the demands of the individuals based on age and gender.

Moderation is regulating the food intake based on the daily requirements of all essential nutrients. The essential nutrients should not be too much or too low in our diet. It also regulates the consumption of beverages.

2) When concerning my own diet plan, I will make my plate as based on the food pyramid. My plate will consist of Bread, cereal, rice, vegetables, fruits, milk products, and meat and poultry products. This will meet my daily requirements of carbohydrates, proteins, dietary fiber, vitamins, and minerals. I will include a variety of vegetables and fruits on daily basis. I changed my full meals three times a day into five small servings per day including snacks. I also wish to calculate my daily calorie intake and the calorie burnt to keep up my energy level.

3) Meal plan for one day

Breakfast 1 slice bread, 1 cup plain yogurt, 1/2 cup blueberries. 420
Morning snack 1 apple, 1tsp peanut butter. 292
Lunch 1 cup rice, 1 cup green veggies, and mixed vegetables, walnut 1tsp with cheese. 495
Evening snack 10 dried apricot, Banana 1. 230
Dinner 1 cup brown rice with roasted chicken 1 serving. 604

My daily plate consists of approx. 2014 calories. In this approx 200 calories are burnt in my daily active walk.
