Food a major component needed for all living being to survive. Though there are wide variety of foods available the nutrition portion in the food is essential for healthy life. A wrong food habit or nutrient status can affect the weight of an individual by increasing or decreasing

It is important in the following way

  • Avoids and decreases any chronic illness ( associated with cardiovascular,renal or liver diseases)
  • Helps in maintaining ideal body weight by preventing obesity
  • It can eliminate unnecessary hunger
  • Aides in growth and development especially in children
  • If pregnant a healthy weight fain is possible with right nutritional diet
  • Prevents malnutrition
  • The physical activities can be improved
  • Obesity being a major problem can be tackled easily.
  • Diseases arising due to unhealthy weight can be prevented.
