AIDS - ACQUIRED IMMUNODEFICIENCY SYNDROME

  • AIDS is a immunodeficiency disorder and is caused by HIV ( Human immunodeficiency virus).
  • Client suffered from this disease having very low immunity status when compared to the normal healthy persons health status.
  • Clients own antibody is detected as foreign bodies and destroy itself.
  • It is a life threatening condition and people with this diseases should get adequate treatment.
  • During the starting stage of the disease there is no signs and symptoms.
  • The disease is transmitted through the sexual intercourse with unprotected sex, blood transfusion and open contact with the blood products.
  • Due to the immune dysfunction the chance of occurring opportunistic infection is high.
  • The opportunistic infection such as Pneumocystis pnuemonia and Tuberculosis.
  • Due to the immune dysfunction the client daily life style is highly affected because the easy exposure of infection is highly present.
  • Client with AIDS also having the chance of getting cancer related problems such as cervical cancer, Burkitt's lymphoma and kaposi's sarcoma.
  • Client with AIDS having severe weight loss and having very poor nutritional status.
  • Due to the tuberculosis client have breathing difficulty and have severe restlessness.
  • Client also having difficult in passing stool.
