The Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967 (ADEA) was enforced to employees 40 years of age and older from discrimination on the basis of age in hiring, promotion, discharge, compensation, or terms, conditions or privileges of employment.
As per My openion, This act was enforced to restrict emloyers which were trying to discrimination of his emloyees on the basis of his age and goverement want to provide stability to employee on praticular time when they needed.
