Summarize Feyerabend’s view of science.

Step-by-Step Solution

Solution 1

Paul Feyerabend (1924-1994) described in his book named “Against Method: Outline of an Anarchistic theory of knowledge” the view of science. In this book, he proposed that there are no set of rules and that it can be broken for the progress of science.

Feyerabend summarized that anarchism helps to achieve progress in any of these senses, one cares to choose. According to him, the lawlessness can help in achieving the success, even in the case of law-and-order. He viewed science archaistically.

Feyerabend preceded his anarchistic description of science in his next book named “Farewell to Reason”. In this book, he described that there is no scientific method. However, instead of the scientific method, there is a great opportunism. The successful research does not obey any protocols instead they depend on the tricks.
