Within the realm of science, what is the correspondence theory of truth? Explain why it can be said that Popper accepted this theory and Kuhn did not.
The Correspondence theory of truth is based on the concept of normal science. This theory explains that the truth and the falsity of the statement of the fact can be examined only by how it relates with the world and whether it truly describes that world or not.
Popper accepted the correspondence theory of truth and proposed that solving scientific problems are highly imaginative, creative activity and not like puzzle solving. He believed that the science can estimate the truths about the physical world.
Kuhn, on the other hand, rejected the correspondence theory of truth and proposed that the truth itself is absolute to paradigm. He believed that the paradigm accepted by the group of scientists creates the “reality”. According to Kuhn, the observations are always made by the paradigm. The analyses of Kuhn are more about the convention and the subjective factors.
