In what ways did Popper’s view of science differ from the traditional view?

Step-by-Step Solution

Solution 1

Science came in existence in the form of answering of queries regarding the nature as well as by examination of the nature directly and depends on past authorities, church dogma, superstition as well as thought processes of an abstract.

The science has the direct observation of nature. However, observations must be organized and should be similar or different to other observations. The empiricist maintains all the knowledge of the sensory observation.

The scientific theory proposed a function of confirmable propositions that they are tested experimentally to confirm the propositions. If the theory is not confirmed by the experimentation, it loses it strength.

According to Popper, there are two ways of the disagreement of traditional science:

1. He did not agreed on the concept that science starts with the empirical observation. He believed that the scientist itself make observation and then explain them what they have observed.

2. The next way is to propose solutions to the problem and try to find out the fault in the proposed solution. He found that scientific method involves three stages namely problems, theories and criticism.
