According to Popper, what are the two primary reasons that theories such as those of Freud and Adler are unscientific?
Popper distinguishes the scientific theory from the non-scientific theory with the help of principle of falsifiability. Popper criticized the theories given by Freud and Adler because these theories are weak and vague.
So, these theories are valid to claim. The scientific theory must be refutable. Popper contrasted these theories with the theories given by Einstein, which clarifies what should or should not happen to made the theory correct.
For such theories there are following reasons:
1. The theories must make risky predictions which have a real reason to be incorrect. Those theories which cannot make risky predictions and explain it after its occurrence are non-scientific, according to Popper.
2. Another reason is the vagueness, means they are mostly involved in the postdiction than in prediction.
