Just as you can configure the settings for your keyboard, you can also configure them for a mouse. In this project, you view the settings available for your mouse (or touch pad on a laptop) in Windows XP/Vista/7, Server 2003/Server 2003 R2, or Server 2008/Server 2008 R2.

To view the settings you can change for your mouse or touch pad in Windows XP/Vista, Server 2003/Server 2003 R2, or Server 2008/Server 2008 R2:

1. In Windows XP/Vista/Server 2008, click Start and click Control Panel and ensure you are in Classic View. And, in Windows Server 2003, click Start and point to Control Panel.

2. Double-click (or click in Server 2003/Server 2003 R2) Mouse.

3. What tabs are available for your mouse or touch pad (see Figure 6-23)?

4. Click each tab to view the properties you can set.

5. Click Cancel and close any open Windows.

1. Click Start, click Control Panel, and ensure View by is set for Large icons or Small icons.
