What evidence supports the claim that contemporary psychology is highly diverse? What accounts for this diversity?
The modern conventional psychology turns out to be very diverse in nature. It can be seen that different wings of psychology have come out, abnormal, behavioral, cognitive, developmental, evolutionary, and forensic among others. These branches of psychology tempt the modern studies.
There was almost never a time in the history of psychology when all the psychologists and theorists believed in one school of thought and focused on a same issue or even settling the debate on a single paradigm. Only during the Middle Ages was seen a time wherein psychology turned out to be a single-paradigm discipline and that too because deviations from the conventional theories were not accepted.
Behavioristic theories dominated between the years 1930 to 1950s. Behaviorism dominated during this while but theorists faced criticism and alternative views and thoughts as well while elucidating the theories. The disparity has arises from the views, coming from the emerging psychologists.
