A structural element in a computer printer is to carry the load shown in Figure (a) with the uniformly distributed load representing electronic components mounted on a printed circuit board and the concentrated loads applied from a power supply. It is proposed to make the beam from polycarbonate with the cross section shage shown in Figure (b). Compute the stress in the beam and compare it with the flexural strength for polycarbonate from Appendix.
