Answer: Leadership competencies are all about creating a safe and trusting environment. A leader who has high ethical standards is always have qualities of a better leadership. The healthcare professional leaders should communicate with their team members, and try to avoid blindsiding people and ensure that everyone is on the same stage. A better leader only can deal with the change in the healthcare industry. Leadership skills and behaviors that include better performance are known as Leadership competencies. Some of the leadership competencies are:

  • Social Intelligence (SI): Social intelligence can be explained in simple words that the understanding of the social environmental condition and also its effectiveness. This skill will definitely help in dealing with the change in the healthcare industry.
  • Intelligence skills: To become a better leader one should have the ability to think brilliantly and effectively. Sometimes leaders have to be very intelligent.
  • Courage: Leader should be very courageous as to take firm decision and ready to take the risk. He should stand on his decision and participate.
  • Decision Making: Leaders should have the ability to make good decisions or lead a good decision making process. There are better and worse ways to make decisions, and a good leader understands when to make a decision.

The leader should have knowledge about the healthcare environment to lead his team and encourage to do better work. They should be very professional and should not be biased. Making the decision wisely in the favor of the health-related issues, and should be very firm on his decision. He should have the courage to take the responsibilities of the decision he has taken.
