Answer #1

ANSWER.

6) Calculation of number of tablets required.

         Ordered dose = 500 mg (0.5g).

         Available dose = 250 mg/tablet.

Number of tablet required = Ordered dose/Available dose

                                              = 500/250

                                              = 2 tablet.

7) Calculation of volume(ml) of drug required.

            Volume(ml) = Desired dose(D)/Dose in hand(H) * Quantity(Q).

       Here

            Desired dose(D) = 36 mcg.

            Dose in hand(H) = 0.05 mg.

Convert mg to mcg for calculation

             1 mg = 1000 mcg.

       So

           Dose in hand(H) = 0.05 * 1000

                                       = 50 mcg.

                     Quantity(Q) = 1 ml.

As per above formula

       Volume(ml) of drug required = D/H * Q

                                                     = 36/50 * 1

                                                     = 0.7 * 1

                                                     = 0.7 ml.

8) Calculation of number of tablets required.

            Ordered dose = 20 mEq.

            Available dose = 10 mEq.

Number of tablet required = 20/10

                                              = 2 tablets.

9) Calculation of volume(ml) of drug required per dose.

            Volume(ml) = Desired dose(D)/Dose in hand(H) * Quantity(Q)

      Here

         Desired dose(D) = 0.25 g

Convert gm to mg for calculation

             1 gm = 1000 mg.

         Desired dose(D) = 0.25 * 1000

                                     = 250 mg.

         Dose in hand(H) = 125 mg.

                 Quantity(Q) = 5 ml.

As per above formula

     Volume(ml) of drug required = D/H * Q

                                                    = 250/125 * 5

                                                    = 2 * 5

                                                    = 10 ml per dose.

Volume(ml) of drug required per day = 10 ml three times a day

                                                                = 10 * 3

                                                                = 30 ml per day.

10) Calculation of volume(ml) of drug required .

               Volume(ml) = Desired dose(D)/Dose in hand(H) * Quantity(Q)

        Here

              Desired dose(D) = 500 mg.

              Dose in hand(H) = 1000 mg (1g)

                     Quantity(Q) = 3.6 ml

As per above formula

        Volume(ml) of drug required = D/H * Q

                                                      = 500/1000 * 3.6

                                                      = 0.5 * 3.6

                                                      = 1.8 ml.
