PROCEDURE :PELVIC INFLAMATION

Description of procedure

pelvic inflamation implies inflamation in the pelvic region upper genital tract involving the fallopian tubes as well as ovaries,in the procedure examin the pelvic region for any signs and symptoms of pelvic inflammation ,micro scopic examination by collecting swabs

Indications

Abdominal pain,it is bilateral and restricted to lower abdominal.fever,vomtings,discharge,menstrual irregularity,diarrhea,discharge from cervical canal,tenderness in the lower abdomen

Interpretation of findings

Interpretation of findings done by investigations such as swabs culture for both aerobic and anaerobic organisms ,urethral swab culture in suspect of gonorrhoea,blood culture for bacteremia,urine analysis for chlamydial infection,ultra sound

Potential complications

In the long lasting condition leads to complications like ectopic pregnancy,chronic inflammation leads to hydrosalpinx,chronic pyosalpinx,chronic interstitial salpingitis,tube ovarian cyst,anaemia,spreading of infection from pelvic region to other organs surrounding.

Nursing interventions

Pre interventions should give proper medication like antibiotics analgesics,fluids monitor vitals bp ,pulse,temperature, and educate the patient

Intra intervention should observe the condition of the patient and check the dose of antibiotics in proper way r not ,and maintain the follow chart

Post intervention educate patient and follow up maintain contact with the health care provider of the patient

Client education

Educate the client about the condition, and educate them about the hygiene and cleanness to follow,advise to stop intercourse in the period of infection to stop spreading STDs, maintain follow up

Nursing intervention

Nurse should be follow the instruction about the medication of the patient and administer the medications such as antibiotics, analgesics, monitoring temperature and hygiene around the bed ,educating the person about the condition and educate them main intervention is to reduce the pain and cure the patient .
