#. Unprogramed Theories :

Not as definite and less set than Program Theories. More about environment and how you experience things. These theories will promote health promotion by helping to create health guidelines that will be appropriate as per the needs of the older population and as per the changing biological parameters.

Non-programmed aging theories based on evolutionary concepts (where ageing is considered the result of an organism’s inability to better combat natural deteriorative processes).

Example :-

Cross linking theory - according to which an accumulation of cross linked protein damages cells and tissues , slowing down bodily process and thus results in ageing .

Health promotion :-

-Process enabling people to increase control over, and to improve, their health

-Moves beyond a focus on individual behavior towards a wide range of social and environmental interventions

-Activities that allow individuals, families, and communities to achieve their full health potential

-Maximize health and well-being in various contexts
