A Nurses role is very important in Healthcare domain ,be it in the Hospital premises or at Home or in a community setting.ILet me describe the role of a nurse in each of this setting one by one where she makes a difference with her care.In hospital, apart from direct patient care as a Caregiver ,the nurse can act as a Counsellor who provides motivation , positive body image in case of surgeries and address depression and protect their rights.A nurse is someone who the patients trust the most .The nurse takes leadership in case of emergencies and saves peoples lives She works as a Team with other health members and act as an aurrance holder of Quality healthcare.At Home, she can ensure proper hygienic practises for evryone to follow and also manage emergency situations.She can make family members learn about Basic First Aid or CPR skills which help them at times of emergency.She can ensure proper nutritous meals for aged and young members of her family.In a community set up, A nurse can incorporate basic hygiene practises to women and children,give healthtalk to pregnant women,teach them to cook safe ,simple and healthy meals,proper way of sanitation,how to avoid communicable diseases, enquire about basic immunisation status.Sometimes she along with other nurses and physicians can set up camps to assess basic health status of community children including height,weight,milestones etc.A nurse can teach women about Breast self examination,menstrual hygiene and many such things.She can provide geriatric care to old aged communities and help them with regular checkups.Above are in short ,out of many only a few ways, how even a single nurse can make difference in evry setup that she is dwelling or working in,
