Anaphylaxis is the type of shock state due to hypersensitivity reaction of the body. When the body encounters the foreign antigen through Ig-E, it produces a systemic and immediate response by release of mast cells and basophils.
The pathophysiology of the anaphylaxis is impaired oxygen delivery to the tissues. It occurs due to low cardiac output and decrease in stroke volume. Due to low oxygen and nutrients supply to different tissues and organs of the body, the cellular metabolism of the body gets impaired. It results into organ dysfunction and multiorgan dysfunction syndrome.
The treatment of anaphylaxis is to maintain the adequate oxygen supply to the tissues. The oxygen supply is maintained as a therapeutic strategy and continuous monitoring of the respiratory, circulatory, and vascular system is done.
