Answer #1

Physical education in schools focuses on physical activities and helps to maintain a healthy body. This contributes to the total health and development of the children. We all are aware of the benefits of regular exercise, some of which includes stronger bones, muscles, and joints; good posture and balance; enhanced motor skills, energy and coordination; and a healthy weight range. Physical education is equally important as any other school subjects and children learn many skills along with developing a healthy body.

Public school physical education is important due to the fact that, at present, the world is facing a growing rate of childhood obesity, which can not only affect the physical health of a child but also his social and emotional wellbeing as well as his self-esteem. Moreover, this can also lead to serious conditions relating to heart, liver, kidneys, lungs, etc. Physical activities increases an individual’s total energy expenditure and help them to maintain a healthy weight and physique. It also reduces symptoms of anxiety and depression and prevents the development of adverse health conditions. Hence, it is highly important to lead a physically fit life and physical education teaches a child the importance of physical health.

Physical education teachers are certified educators who support physical fitness and sport skill development. They pursue the following objectives:
