Volunteers may provide many benefits such as saving money, bringing needed skills, community ownership etc. to an organization. During recruitment, sometimes many people offer their services but some of them may not be appropriate for the organization. they may actually pose a threat to the organization. Additionally, organizations are responsible for the actions committed by their volunteers while working. This problem can be resolved by screening of volunteers.

With screening, training is also essential for chosen volunteers because it will help the employer to explain to the volunteers about the basics of the organization, its philosophy, and what they will be doing. Additionally, for effective functioning, sometimes volunteers need extensive training for effective management of duties assigned to them.
