Saudi Arabia has mainly three most hazardous environmental health issues which are:

Desertification, air pollution and water pollution.

1.1. desertification is the most common and main health issue faced by the people of Saudi Arabia. But apart from it the other most hazardous environmental health problem is air pollution.

1.2. the major part of Saudi Arabia where the problem is located are:

- Dammam

- Al jubail and

- Riyadh

1.3. the problem happened after the gulf war that took place in Saudi Arabia in the year 1991.

2. The major causes of the health problems are:

- the discovery of the oil

- it is the third leading country which produces aluminium

- occurrence of the sandstorm because of the emission of pollutants from the vehicles and the factories.

These are the major causes of environmental health problems in the people of Saudi Arabia.

3. There are various different health effects caused by the environment. They are as follows:

- respiratory inflammation

- metabolic problems such as diabetes mellitus

- cardiac problems or cardiovascular diseases

- atherosclerosis

- chronic obstructive diseases

- lung cancer

- asthma

- premature mortality

- decreased birth weight etc

4. Solutions used for decreasing the environmental health problems are as follows:

- Adoption of the 'environment protection policy' in the basic law of governance. This law states that, the state shall work towards the preservation, protection and the improvement of the environment of Saudi Arabia, as well as to prevent the pollution which is affecting or polluting the air of the country.

- the kingdom of Saudi has participated in various different programs which are helping towards the improvement of the environmental health. They have donated about 300 USD to establish a research fund for the energy and environment which was held on OPEC summit in the year 2007.

- in the year 2013, it completed the largest ever environmental project keeping in mind of the gulf war of 1991.

- they have also implemented policies and procedures in order to combat the epidemics and diseases that affects the citizens of Saudi Arabia such as:

Public health pest management and environmental reform and assessment etc.

- likewise, there are various different management and preserve program established by the government of the kingdom of Saudi in order to protect their people as well as the wildlife from the polluted environment and also the environment from the pollution.
