1. answer

the branch of public health deals with the man-made environment and the natural environment which has a deleterious effect on human health,

human health that gets affected by the environmental factor and also the step was taken by the human in order to control the environment also has a negative effect on the health of people.

according to WHO all the environmental factors such as physical, chemical, biological and all the external factors related to impacting behavior. It encompasses the assessment and control of those environmental factors that can potentially affect health.

The problem in the environment is based upon the area where human get maximum exposure in his day to day life.

these problems are

1. biological problem/hazards

it starts with the interactions between environment and the organisms, the example includes virus, fungi, protozoa, bacteria, pathogens of TB and malaria, when these organisms interact with a human it gets transmitted from one individual to another individual and it is called infectious disease.

2. physical problem/hazards

physical problems occur naturally in the environment for example drought, rainfall, volcano tsunami, etc, but some of the physical hazards are like UV radiation that individual get exposed to it almost on the daily basis, harmful UV rays destroy the DNA and also causes skin cancer.

3. chemical problems/hazards

some of the heavy chemicals that react in the environment such as mercury and lead, some man-made chemicals are pesticides, insecticides and other and also naturally occurring organism also produce certain kind of chemicals that have a bad effect on human health such as allergy and other hypersensitive reactions.

4. cultural problems/hazards

cultural problems arise when a culture follows certain norms which have bad effect on others in the society for eg, cigarette smoking is done by the choice of an individual but when it is followed by a huge member of a particular culture can cause cancer and other health problems,also eating behaviour and the pattern of eating according to the culture also has a great impact on the health.

With advancement in technology and the innovation there is a change in lifestyle and also population started increasing, for accommodating a large number of population we started destroying natural flora and fauna of the environment and also deforestation started on a large scale, also by improper disposal of garbage and the industrial waste has a very bad effect on the sewage, seas and rivers,the environment and also on the health .

1. improper handling of waste.

if the waste is not treated properly there is an enormous growth of microbes which produces various disease, proper treatment of all kind of waste should be done and also maintenance of personal hygiene and the environmental hygiene can reduce the chances of getting an infection.

2. food management.

storing and cooking food with cleanliness has a great impact on the health, also various kinds of pesticides and the fertilizers which are used to treat the crop in the field when consumed can cause various diseases.

3. water quality

clean and filtered water should be provided by the government to the community and also there should be a separate drainage system should be made to achieve optimal health without being contaminated to the microbes present in the environment.

4.air pollution

air pollution from the vehicle and the industry can cause allergy and other respiratory disorders.
