please discuss the arguments for and against taking supplements; whether or not they can protect you from chronic disease; and if you think they are needed or not.

Answer: To stay healthy it is necessary to have a healthy diet and lifestyle. Some of the Advantages of taking supplements are:

  • Some of the supplements such as omega-3 fatty acids can lower the cholesterol level.
  • Supplements provides nutrition which cannot be obtained through foods or diet.
  • Supplements reduced risk of cardiovascular disease by maintaining the proper supply of the proteins, vitamins etc.

Some of the disadvantages of supplements are:

  • Due to lack of proper knowledge people don't take optimal or proper dose which sometimes causes adverse effects.
  • It is not always that supplements is genuine or a just a product.
  • Supplements alone can not improve or modify the health condition, it also requires proper diet along with good foods.

According to me although supplements provides much benefits but still without proper diet and exercise it can't be possible to reduce the risk of chronic diseases.
