Illness can be categorised into two acute and chronic. The acute cases are generally reversible whereas it is not in the case of a chronic case where pain,suffering, financial losses , etc., are more.Patient who suffer chronic and deadly disease like cancer at any age are more sensitive to be approached and cared for.Here not only the patient loses their physical and psychological strength the patients family members suffers in emotional and other means.The best ways to ensure a patient and family cwntered care can be done in the following ways

  • Respecting and treating the patient and family members with utmost dignity
  • Providing adequate psychological support through talk therapy, counselling and clarifying their doubts
  • Meeting all the basic requirements of the patients providing assistance in daily activities
  • Providing diversional therapy along with the family members
  • Encouraging to participate in group activity for patient participation
  • Social support service can be beneficial to the family members to a greater extent.
