Neurotransmitters are the chemical messengers which are released at neuron and uptake will be by the target cells.

Nearly our central nervous system contains 100 millions of neuron which are connected each other with number of branches.

Two neurons can transmits the information only through the neurotransmitters only.

There are two types of neurotransmitters are there. One iz excitatory and another one is inhibitory neurotransmitters.

These helps to elevate the mood or to depress the activities.

Neurotransmitters are received by neurotransmitter receptors. Neurotransmitters and it's receptors are concerned by genes. These genes are responsible for human behavior. Changes or mutation in that gene may leads to behavioral problems.

Neurotransmitter glutamate and it's receptors are critical in learning and memory. Serotonin is neurotransmitter that makes the person passive and depressed.

The drugs called Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors are used to treat depression.
