Client education-

-Need to maintain a moist environment but NOT wet
-Hygiene practices: wash hands and body
-Cigarette smoking: don't do it. Slows down healing

-Dietary concerns
-Signs and symptoms of infection and what to do if they think it is infected

Nursing intervention-

Wound care nurses assess, treat, and create care plans for patients with complex wounds, ostomies, and/or continence conditions. One minute you may be cleaning a surgical wound, the next you'll help a patient with pain management, and before your shift ends you're consulting staff on how to prevent pressure ulcers.

Wound Care Nurse Responsibilities and Duties. Provide excellent nursing care to patients suffering from wounds.

Ensure optimum patient care delivery in wound care nursing procedures. Educate and counsel patients and their families on wound care processes and issues.
