Answer: COPD is a inflammatory lung disease which causes difficulty in breathing. This condition becomes more worse if it is left untreated. COPD affects the mental health in many ways. In most of the research it has been found that COPD cause cognitive impairment.

People suffering from COPD have difficulty in breathing due to the blockage of airways in the lungs. The insufficient amout of oxygen supply causes slow damage to the nerve cells and hence causes degradation of mental health. This also causes confusion, thinking impairment etc.
