Answer: The communication style that includes the assertive communication. The effective communication results in to proper understanding and clear concept of the things.

Some of the strategies that can be developed for improved understanding are:

• Effective communication with the people removes the barrier of the communication gap. It clear out the misunderstanding and eliminate the risk of informal communication.
• Understanding is one of the major component where onse should understand the point and views of the other person.
• Eye contact should be made while having communication.

The two strategies that can strengthen the listening skills are:

• Increased attention towards the things that are being communicated.
• Concentrating on the verbal and non verbal form of communication.

In the nursing profession there are many times when the conflicts occurs due to misunderstanding or the gap of communication. Sometimes due to cultural differences, language problem occurs. One of the patient was complaining continuously that he is not feeling comfortable with the first dose and hence the treatment provided to him is not good. It was important to make him understand that the drug will take at least 15-30 minutes to show it's action.

The patient need to understand the things and treatment procedure. But the use of the assertive communication method, the conflict was solved. As this includes respecting the other's views and keeping self opinion too. The outcome of the conversation resulted in to positive as patient understood that it will take little time to get cured.
