The healthcare world is evolving to one that recognizes that it is more important to focus on what matters to the patient versus what IS the matter with them. How would you define health/wellness? What is the nurse’s role in promoting health/wellness? Please describe 3 specific actions that you as the nurse can do to promote health and wellness in your patients.

According to WHO,health is a state of complete physical mental and social well being and not merely the absence of disease on infirmity.actually health is the complete well being of a person.

Nurses role in promoting health:

nurse can teach patients about maintaining healthy lifestyle.

She can teach about healthy behaviors and attitude.

She can teach the client about assesing own health.

She can teach the client about health care strategies.

She can assist and educate them about health care factors.

She can teach family members of the client for maintaining quality assurance .

Nurse can use his advocacy and critical thinking power for promotion of health.

3 specific actions that nurse can do:

Assessment is a primary and the most essential part of promotion of health care.here she can get all the information about the client including his Chief complaining.

Planning is second most important area of promotion.here nurse will set up a plan of care according to the goal that is to be achieved.

Implementation and evaluation is the two important area of promotion.after planning proper implementation should be done and after that evaluation is to be done .
