Transitional meeting

Transition is the process of change from one state, form, stage or  style to another. Transition meetings or transitional meetings are the meetings conducted within the school system as a part of Individual Education Plan ( IEP). These meetings are organized under IDEP ( Individuals with Disabilities Education Act).

Teenagers , who receive special education and currently finishing high school, can attend the transition meetings. Transition meetings will enable the child to meet his post high school goals. In this meeting , special educators assess the child's interests, identify his vocational skills, academic support, pre vocational skill training will be provided. Before a child turn 16 , transition services can be discussed. Not only child with LD ( learning disabilities), but also his family members, teachers, school staffs ( who all are involved in student's stage of transition) should attend the transition meetings. Parents are the main key roles , who knows their child better. teachers, advocates, Medicare providers also can help in planning the future educational activities for the child.
