Mainly vaccines are developed to enhance immunity of human body so that congective disese can be prevented from spreading rather than curing it at later stage. These are broadly categorised into four types as following:

Live attenuated virus(LAV)

Inactivated

Subunit, recombination or conjugate, DNA

Toxoid vaccines

Vaccine 1: toxoid vaccine

Toxoid means toxic alike that is in this type of vaccine scientists use toxin material rather than germ itself to provide immunity. For example Tetanus is caused by Clostridium tetani bacteria which release tetanolysin causing tissue damage and tetanospasmin toxin causing tetanus, infection spread by getting hurt from rusted iron particularly, symptom is lockjaw, Crump's, lethargy condition etc. In order to treat this infection toxoid type vaccine is given to person who get hurted with rusted metal. This vaccine is part of regular immunization and can be given to adults also at the time of hurting in order to avoid infection.

Vaccine2: Live attenuated vaccine

Chicken pox also known as Varicella due to its caustive vector i.e. Varicella zoster virus. Symptoms are blister like rash formation starting from face and truck to every body part and if not treated timely causes chronic disease like pneumonia and shingles later on. This disease vaccine is regular vaccine given to children to enhance their immunity, here a weakened form of varicella is given to infants in order to allow their immune system form enough antigens to prevent them from this congictive disease.

Vaccine3: inactivated or killed virus vaccine

Polio, Rabies, hepatitis A are some of the diseases which can be treated by injecting dead remains of germs in order to build immunity.

Vaccine4: subunit/conjugate/recombinant/DNA/polysaccharide

Here specific part of germ body are used in order to form antigens against that type of germs. These vaccines are most safe and can be given to weak immune bodies also For example: Hepatitis B, woughing cough, human papilloma virus(HPV)

In short vaccines are part of regular immunization schedule for child's only but can be given to adults also based on circumstances For example, Tetanus, Polio, Hepatitis A,B all belong to different forms of vaccinations but are given to child's as regular immunization schedule. Although many a times Tetanus injection is given and recommended to person who got hurted from rusted iron/metal if vaccine is given 3-4months before.
