how not teaching patients of how to clean their teeth will affect my professional life as a dental hygienist

Dental hygienist is a licensed dental professional who work independently or alongside dentists to provide full oral healthcare. They are trained to provide treatment for many oral disease. So they are mainly focusing on treatment of disease related to teeth but not focusing on how to prevent these disease. Because if they start to teach people how to clean and take care of their teeth then number of patient will be reduced which will affect their profession. Now a days teeth problem is so common and everyone suffering from sensitivity and cavity related problem. As Dental hygienist are responsible to teach people how to clean and take care of their teeth but to increse their income they are focuusing on treatment of those problem.
