This is half chance. Genetic biases can improve or impede the evolutionary changes in the organism. The improvement or positive changes are known as developmental drive while the negative changes are known as the developmental constraint.

All tests of these biases perform by creating Mutants of particular gene. For example, Wnt, Notch, and Ras pathways have tested in C.elegans, the developmental genes related to Drosophila like Hunchback, Pair rule, and other genes have tested by mutants.
