Answer #1

ATP ( Adenosine triphosphate) is a energy carrying molecule in cell. ATP stores energy and releases energy during cellular processes.

ATP synthase is an inner membrane enzyme ( protein) that catalyzes the synthesis of ATP from ADP and pi (phosphate). ATP synthase is located within the thylakoid membrane and inner membranes of mitochondria. ATP synthase consist of two parts: Fo and F1 . ATP synthase synthesis ATP during respiration by flux of proton across a gradient. In eukaryotes ATP synthase synthesis ATP during cellular respiration by proton gradient across mitochondria plasma membrane. In plants ATP is synthesized by proton gradient across thylakoid membrane.

ATP synthase is a membrane protein that catalyzes the energy requiring synthesis of ATP from ADP and pi.

Choose the correct statement about transport of ATP from mitochondria. Transport of ATP occurs without energy expense. ATP passes freely through the inner mitochondrial membrane. ATP has the same negative charge as ADP. Transport of ATP is not coupled with ADP. ATP is moved across the inner mitochondrial membrane by specific 30 kDa transport protein.

hat is the statement of chemiosmotic theory? Energy needed to phosphorylate ADP is provided by the flow of protons down the electrochemical gradient. Phosphorylation of ADP is a result of a direct reaction between ADP and a high-energy phosphate carrier The proton gradient for ATP synthesis is established across plasma membrane in eukarytes. Electrons flow through respiratory chain using ATP energy.
