According to me, it is not rightly said that management is the only requirement needed for effective organizational development and not leadership. The reason for the same is that a leader can be a manager but not all managers can be good leaders. Management is concerned with the organization of the activities and human resources in the company but leadership is concerned with the training, development, monitoring, and supervision of the employees. Employees are the ultimate human resources who are responsible for producing goods and services that will generate cash for the company. This is why, leadership is an essential function of the organization that must be undertaken to guide, support, and motivate human resources in the company. Effective organizational development is a combination of various activities including a good working environment, employee motivations, and productivity. Management can ensure the division of activities and responsibilities among employees and departments but leadership provides a path to walk on by the employees to achieve organizational and personal goals as well.
