1) The agar plate will contain streptomycin. Hence, streptomycin sensitive cells will not grow.

The incomplete lysis will only damage the cell wall. The cell membrane of the cell remains intact. Hence, DNA from the streptomycin resistant cells will not be released and cannot transform the streptomycin sensitive cells. Hence, growth will be seen only in streptomycin resistant cell quadrant.

Option BG.

2. Streptomycin sensitive and resistant cell are interchanged. Hence, the quadrants will have the following types of cells:

A=Streptomycin resistant cells

B=Streptomycin sensitive cells

C= Streptomycin sensitive DNA

D= Streptomycin sensitive DNA and Streptomycin resistant cells

E=Streptomycin resistant cells

F=Streptomycin sensitive DNA and Streptomycin resistant cells

G=Streptomycin sensitive cells

Streptomycin resistant cells can only grow on the media. Hence growth will be seen in A, D, E and F.
