The occurrences or environmental factors that generally affect the migration patterns are in the form of natural calamities. This may be in the form of droughts, floods, hurricanes, earthquakes etc, that not only cause a major destruction to the environment, but also to infrastructure and human livelihood. When the patterns of migration are to be noted, the poorer countries are the the ones that show high level of migrations. This is because, of the climate changes that are seen to have more extreme effects in calamities such as droughts or floods in these countries. Another reason for such migrations are the highly increased temperatures or warming seen in the climate. In areas where the temperatures have risen much above the normal temperatures, even the regular or the native people of those areas want to shift to another place that would give slight relief to the individuals. Another reason of migration is a rise in sea level. It is being predicted that with an increase in sea level, there would be a severe decrease in rainfall, especially affecting the African areas, which would be much lower than the average. Also, planned relocation and migrations are being adopted as a subject of future study by researchers.
