ANSWER: There are 2 critical paths. They are BEFH and CGFH. The critical chain is BCGFH. The traditional critical path consists of the node E20 that starts from 21st node and ends at 40th G20 starts 21st and ends at 40th. As per Gnatt chart, there is no change in the time and no delays Node B started on 10th and ended after 22 days Hence, it would be 32days=10+22 E is half way, so it took additionally 10 days. This means on the 42nd day, the schedule is running 11 days late so CPM needs to crash the project Finally, B is complete after 12 days and C will complete by 24 days instead of 20. So this leads to 4 days delay. The node E should be complete by now. It needs 8 more days due to 8 days delay. The project is running 8 days late. But due to 30 days of buffer presence, at the current level the project can be completed in time.
