Diarrhea results from loss of isotonic fluid from GI tract. there is lack of exchange of extracellular fluid (plasma and interstitial fluid) prolonged dirrhoea thus results in marked lower blood pressure and decrease in blood volume. it may lead to hypokalemia (too low potassium in body) and metablic acidosis (intracellular acidic pH)
